What Can I Expect During My Counseling Session?
When you arrive at Highlight Counseling, you can expect to be greeted with warmth and professionalism. You’ll sit in our comfortable waiting room until your scheduled appointment time. Your therapist will personally greet you and guide you to the therapy room. This welcoming process is designed to help you feel at ease and ready to begin your session.
How Can Therapy Help Me?

What Should I Expect in My First Session?
During your first session, you’ll get to know your therapist and discuss your reasons for seeking therapy. Together, you’ll create a plan tailored to your needs and goals.
Is Therapy Confidential?
Confidentiality & Expectations: Your privacy is of utmost importance to us, and we maintain strict confidentiality regarding your therapy sessions. However, it’s important to note that there are exceptions to confidentiality, particularly when it concerns your safety or the safety of others. In such cases, we are legally obligated to take appropriate actions to ensure everyone’s well-being.
How Long Does Therapy Last?
The duration of therapy varies for each individual. Some people may benefit from a few sessions, while others may need longer-term support. Your therapist will work with you to determine the best approach. Each Session is 45 minutes. Clients typically attend sessions weekly or biweekly, though some may come more or less frequently. The frequency can vary based on your availability and often adjusts as you make progress toward your goals.

We offer a variety of therapy services including Marriage and Family Therapy, Adolescent Trauma Therapy, Group Therapy, Parenting Classes, and treatment for Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD.
What are My Responsibilities as a Client?

1. Show Up for Your Appointments: Consistency is key to making progress in therapy. Attending your scheduled sessions regularly helps build trust and momentum. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide as much notice as possible to allow us to accommodate other clients.
2. Financial Responsibility: Please be aware that Highlight Counseling does not accept insurance. You are responsible for the payment of all services rendered. Understanding and agreeing to the financial commitment involved in your therapy is essential to maintaining a clear and respectful therapeutic relationship.
3. Confidentiality and Sharing: Your therapy experience is personal and private. It’s up to you to decide what you share with others about your sessions. While we maintain strict confidentiality, it’s important that you feel comfortable with how you discuss your therapy outside of our sessions.
4. Communication with Your Counselor: Open communication is crucial in therapy. If there are any changes in your circumstances, such as the need to cancel an appointment or if you feel differently about the direction of your therapy, please communicate this with your counselor.
